Tesla cybertruck prohibited in Europe: because the pickup cannot be registered or sent

The Tesla Cybertruck cannot be registered or circular in Europe, nor to be legally shipped by American soldiers stationed in our continent. The US Army Customs Agency, the customs agency of the US army agency after the vehicle was rejected by the Federal Ministry of German Transport, confirmed this officially.

The reason? Cybertruck did not obtain European homologation, or that go -ahead necessary for road circulation. A decision accrued after a technical analysis that highlighted important violations of the EU standards on safety, in particular towards vulnerable users of the road, such as pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists.

Europe says no to cybertruck

In the statement released by the same army, we read clearly:

Cybertruck does not respect the EU passive safety standards.

The Tesla pickup, made with a rigid stainless steel bodywork and pointed corners, was considered dangerous for those who are outside the vehicle in the event of an accident.

The European rules, in fact, do not focus only on the safety of those who drive or travel on board, but they still protect those who move on foot or by bicycle. This is why cars must be equipped with:

Cybertruck simply does not respect any of this. And this is not an oversight, but a design choice. Tesla has focused on an aggressive, futuristic design, but also too rigid to adapt to European roads.

Not even the military will be able to use it in Europe

The ban does not only concern the civil market. Even American military abroad, who often acquire US vehicles to be used in Europe, will not be able to import or use cybertruck. The same US Army Customs Agency has decided not to issue import certificates, not even for personal use.

And it’s not just a matter of technical safety. The too flashy design of the vehicle was judged incompatible with the discretion needs requested in the military. Such a visible and out of standard pickup would attract too much attention to public roads, creating potential risks also from the point of view of operational safety.

Anyone who wants to try, will have to face important expenses for the vehicle’s reimbarch towards the United States, in the event that local authorities refuse enrollment.
