In the night between 4 and 5 October 2025, Rome received an extraordinary load: 130 works arrived from the Egyptian Museum of Cairo at the prestigious stables of the Quirinale, intended for the exhibition “Treasures of the pharaohs”. The transport took place with a complex logistics operation, which saw the collaboration between the supreme council of the antiquities of Egypt and the technicians of the stables. A team of Egyptian restorers and officials escorted the finds throughout the trip, guaranteeing maximum safety.

Now the speakers are in the stables laboratories, where the unwary and conservative control phase has begun. Each piece will be carefully examined before finding the exact location in the final set -up. The opening to the public is set for October 24, 2025, while the closure is scheduled for May 3, 2026.
The exhibition proposes a journey through the history of ancient Egypt, with particular attention to the glories of the pharaonic dynasties. The works come from two fundamental archaeological sites: the royal tombs of Tanis and the golden city of Amenoophy III, sovereign of the XVIII dynasty. Among the finds there are monumental statues, gold jewels and hard stones, decorated sarcophagi, funeral furniture elements and votive artifacts. These objects return a cross -section of the royal and religious life of a millennial civilization.

The exhibition itinerary is divided into six thematic sections, which explore the complexity of the Egyptian society, the divine pharaoh authority, daily life, religious beliefs and funerary practices. Visitors will be able to admire the statues of Sennefer, Ramses VI and Thutmose III, as well as refined royal jewels, ritual amulets and bibs studded with lapislazzuli. Each element tells the technical skill of the Egyptian craftsmen and the profound spirituality that characterized the pharaonic world.
The exhibition is the result of a cultural collaboration between Italy and Egypt. Many of the works on display have never left the Egyptian borders and will be visible in Italy for the first time. The Egyptian Museum of Turin has contributed with exceptional loans and important scientific content. The curatorship is entrusted to Dr. Tarek El Awady, while the catalog is curated by Dr. Zahi Hawass and published by Allemandi Editore.
Tesori dei Faraoni offers the public an immersive experience, which combines scientific rigor and visual suggestion. Rome becomes a window for a few months on the past, where citizens and tourists will be able to get in touch with a civilization that continues to arouse wonder. The exhibition also takes on a symbolic value: a bridge between different eras, united by the desire for knowledge and memory.
