Excellent quality for almost all lakes
The data are eloquent: ** 97% of the lake areas monitored ** is classified as “excellent”, while the remaining 3% still reaches the “good” standard. A result that testifies to the healthiness of these natural basins and the effectiveness of environmental protection policies.

It is important to emphasize that bathing is generally banned in specific areas such as port areas, military, protected marine areas, areas affected by authorized exhausts, some mouths of rivers and ditches, as well as all areas classified as “scarce”.
The Arpa Lazio maintains a constant supervision of the lakes waters, intervening promptly in the event of pollution phenomena, which have generally proved to be short -lived and often related to adverse weather conditions or temporary events.
Lazio lakes represent not only an important tourist resource, but also a naturalistic heritage to be preserved. Their excellent quality of the waters makes them perfect for bathing and recreational activities, offering an ideal alternative to the marine coasts, especially in the hottest months.
