The world of Pokémon is ready to definitively leave the screen to transform itself into a physical and immersive experience. The Pokémon Company has in fact announced the opening of PokéPark KANTO, the first permanent outdoor Pokémon theme park, scheduled for February 5, 2026. The structure will be built inside Yomiuriland, a historic amusement park located in the Tama hills of Tokyo, and will extend over an area of approximately 26,000 square meters, becoming an unmissable destination for fans of all ages.
A park inspired by video games
PokéPark KANTO was designed to make visitors feel like real Pokémon Trainers. The entire area faithfully reproduces the iconic settings of the video games, combining nature, exploration and surprising encounters. The park will be populated by over 600 Pokémon, coming not only from the Kanto region but also from other generations, distributed in scenarios that invite continuous discovery.
Pokémon Forest: Exploring the wilderness
The most adventurous heart of the park is the Pokémon Forest, a vast natural area that extends for almost 500 meters. Here visitors will walk among hilly paths, tall grass, rocks, tunnels and woodland spaces, encountering Pokémon intent on running, observing, playing or sharing berries. Some will be clearly visible, others hidden among the vegetation or in elevated points, stimulating curiosity and a spirit of observation. The goal is to recreate the feeling of authentic exploration, without mandatory screens or devices.
Sedge Town: the social heart of the park
Next to the forest lies Sedge Town, a town designed as a meeting point between Pokémon and Trainers. Here you will find the Pokémon Center, the Poké Mart, the Pokémon Trainers’ Market, a gym for challenges and events and several themed attractions, including a Pokémon parade. In the center of the village stands the Primarina Fountain, a symbolic place for photos, meetings and moments of relaxation.
Tickets: unknown price
Interest in PokéPark KANTO is very high: tickets for the initial period were assigned via lottery, with access valid from 5 February to 31 March 2026. Subsequently it will be possible to purchase up to two tickets per person without a draw. The official prices have not yet been communicated, but the anticipation is already sky high. PokéPark KANTO is thus preparing to become a new global point of reference for Pokémon-themed entertainment.
