Sunday 7 September 2025, Bormio’s heart will turn into a huge open -air restaurant. From Piazzetta S. Vitale to Piazza del Kuerc, the historic center will host the longest pizzoccirata in Italy, an event that celebrates the Valtellinese gastronomy with a record table of 800 meters and 2026 seats.
A menu that smells of Valtellina
The absolute protagonists will be the pizzoccheri of tradition, hand -prepared by the 16 adhering restaurants. But the experience does not stop at this iconic dish: on the table there will also be Salamet and Slinzega of the County, the local cheeses, the buckwheat cake and the typical Valtellina apple, all accompanied by the wines of the Consortium for the protection of Valtellina wines. To complete the party, the official gadget: the Stelvio beer of the Reit brewery.
Festive atmosphere between music and tradition
It will not only be an opportunity to taste good food, but also to immerse yourself in local culture. The day will be marked by live music, popular dances and the unmistakable sound of the Campanacci brought by the conscripts of Premana and the musicians of the Val Monastero. An entertainment that promises to make an unforgettable experience this Sunday, between laughter, conviviality and authentic flavors.
The restaurants protagonists
The initiative involves some of the best known realities in the area: from the Contado restaurant at the La Bajona tavern, from the Rini farmhouse to the Al Filò restaurant, passing through huts and historic hotels such as the gential. Everyone will bring their interpretation of the pizzoccheri to the table, while maintaining loyalty to the original recipe that makes this dish of Valtellina’s gastronomic heritage.
Tickets and useful information
The cost of participation is from 1 September will rise to 35 euros, but the places are in great demand and many premises are already sold out. The gluten -free option is also provided, provided that it is reported at the time of purchase. Furthermore, those who cannot participate will have the opportunity to use the voucher in participating restaurants by January 2026.
