When everything seems destined to end, life takes us by surprise and the history of this mare proves it. Confined in a pen and destined for the slaughterhouse, she was reborn thanks to the care of a very young man.
Golondrina, this is her name, was one of the many horses that risked becoming cannon fodder. After the economic crisis that hit Spain in 2008, thousands of horses were sold and killed because their maintenance had become unsustainable. But Golondrina has never seen the slaughterhouse.
Marcos Moreno Martinez, a Spanish boy, decided to dedicate himself entirely to the care of animals and to welcome Golondrina into his home. His is a very large family, where many different species live peacefully almost “under the same roof”.

In his videos Golondrina appears alongside dogs that have suffered heavy mistreatment, parrots, snakes and other exotic and wild animals. It is love that marks their daysa feeling that, as we know, works miracles and makes the impossible possible. Just look at Golondrina.

Anyone who knew her then wouldn’t recognize her today. Golondrina was a mare with a strong personality and sometimes aggressive behaviour. He didn’t let himself be approached or petted. The character she had certainly says a lot about the way she was treated.
But the past is the past and today Golondrina is another mare. His happiness is contagious. She runs through the greenery chasing the horizon, she is free to express herself as she wishes and has many extraordinary friends at her side.

Marcos Moreno Martinez has chosen to live his days like this, showing his followers sad and touching stories, but with a happy ending. It is precisely by knowing the pain of others that one finds the courage and will to oppose violence and help the weakest.
In his posts Marcos often repeats this concept:
I tell their stories not to dramatize but to raise awareness!! Many people avoid watching removed videos but it is important even if it is unpleasant because if we all look the other way nothing will change”
Thanks to him, many things have changed and continue to change for the better.
