The eternal loser of animation takes out his greatest revenge in the courtroom. The distribution company Lucky Red has released the official trailer in Italian for Coyotes vs. Acmethe highly anticipated mixed media feature film arriving in Italian cinemas starting from September 2nd. The project, which merges real actors with animated drawings from Warner Bros., following the model of timeless cults such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit or Space Jamwas directed by director Dave Green and co-written and produced by James Gunn.
The narrative, inspired by a famous short story by Ian Frazier published in the New Yorker in 1990, sees the iconic unfortunate man from the desert ask for damages from the Acme Corporation, the multinational that for decades supplied him with faulty explosives and failed devices. Historic allies such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck will line up at his side.
The stellar cast between courtrooms and entertainment
The screenplay delves into the bizarre legal clash by including top-notch performers in the cast. The comedian Will Forte plays the role of the unlikely public defender who chooses to represent the mistreated protagonist in his class action. The defense of the ruthless multinational is instead entrusted to a cold and ambitious lawyer played by star John Cena.
But the film above all represents a double revenge: the narrative one of the protagonist against his historical cheats, and the purely industrial one of the work itself. Long since completed, the feature was originally canceled by Warner Bros. to be written off for tax purposes as a financial loss. Only after very hard mobilizations from fans and professionals in Hollywood, the rights were taken over by Ketchup Entertainment, saving the film from oblivion.
