The trailer for “Night before exams 3.0” is a dive into nostalgia (and takes us back to the time of the final exams)

Twenty years after the debut of Night before examsGenoa hosted a special event where the trailer of Night before exams 3.0. In the Salone del Maggior Consiglio of Palazzo Ducale, Fausto Brizzi moderated a talk with part of the original cast – Nicolas Vaporidis and Sarah Maestri – while Cristiana Capotondi spoke via link.

The public was thus able to witness a symbolic passing of the baton between generations, with applause, memories and some tears of nostalgia. To top it all off, Maya Forgione’s choir sang the symbolic song of the film, the homonymous one Night before exams by Antonello Venditti. And the trailer has already shown the tone of the new chapter: faithful to the original spirit but set in the times of Gen Z.

Tommaso Cassissa, the new Nicolas Vaporidis

At the center of the trailer stands Tommaso Cassissa, a Genoese actor and YouTuber, who ideally picks up the baton left by Nicolas Vaporidis who he seems to closely resemble. With him a young cast, including Adriano Moretti, Alice Lupparelli, Alice Maselli and Ditonellapiaga, ready to tell the anxieties and adventures of today’s high school students.

The film, written by Tommaso Renzoni and Brizzi, shows the eve of the state exam between secret loves, friendships put to the test and the fearsome teacher played by Sabrina Ferilli, rigid but with a human side. Between scooters, impromptu parties and impromptu trips to Naples, the trailer anticipates emotions and laughter. The film relives the same universal emotion as the first chapter with choices to face, mistakes to forgive and truths to confess.

The nostalgia effect of the high school years at the center

The trailer also highlights the role of parents and the social context: Gianmarco Tognazzi plays an understanding father, but the gem is the extraordinary participation of Antonello Venditti. Night before exams 3.0 It thus takes us back to the nostalgia of our high school years, but with the language and challenges of Gen Z. The film will arrive in theaters on March 19, 2026 with 01 Distribution, ready to revive universal emotions and make us all feel like teenagers again, reminding us that maturity, ultimately, never really changes.
