The 2026 ranking was made public by Tripadvisor, the largest travel platform in the world with over a billion reviews published by users, which developed the “Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Beaches 2026”, an annual event that rewards the beaches considered to be the most extraordinary on the planet.
The result comes from the combined analysis of the quality and quantity of reviews left by travelers in the period between 30 November 2024 and 1 December 2025. Millions of reviews have helped to outline a detailed map of the most popular seaside destinations, offering a precise cross-section of what the world coastline offers in terms of beauty, services and quality of experience.
The Italian beaches present in the ranking
Italy finds space in the international selection with three locations, distributed between Sardinia and Sicily, capable of establishing themselves in comparison with exotic and iconic destinations.
La Pelosa Beach – Sardinia (8th place)
In eighth position is Spiaggia La Pelosa, located in Stintino, in the extreme north-western corner of Sardinia. The transparent sea, particularly suitable for snorkeling and diving, combines with an expanse of very fine white sand that characterizes the entire beach. In the background the Torre della Pelosa stands out, a silent presence that contributes to defining a recognizable and much photographed landscape. Travelers from all over the world continue to reward it, recognizing a rare balance between nature, clear waters and historical charm.
Rabbit Beach – Lampedusa (18th place)
In eighteenth place we find Spiaggia dei Conigli, on the island of Lampedusa. The waters are characterized by particularly intense blue shades, while the light sand helps to create a glance that many visitors define as memorable. The beach offers a peaceful atmosphere, suitable for those who want rest, sun and swimming in the sea. The area is home to a rich presence of marine fauna and it is not uncommon to observe wild animals along the shore. Parking is free and the beach can also be easily reached by public transport, which increases its accessibility.
La Cinta Beach – Sardinia (24th place)
In twenty-fourth position is Spiaggia La Cinta, still in Sardinia, in the San Teodoro area. The soft, white sand is flanked by a crystal-clear sea with turquoise shades, a setting that many choose for a romantic break. In addition to the visual impact, the area offers numerous activities: kitesurfing, snorkeling and moments of relaxation in the bars overlooking the beach. Those who want to secure a space in the front row prefer to arrive in the morning hours; those looking for more tranquility can head towards the northern end, where the influx is more limited.
