The initiative, now in its 33rd edition, aims to enhance the quality Italian productions, which express the profound link between the territory, variety of cultivars and cultivation techniques attentive to the environment. Organized by Unioncamere, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Umbria and the Ministry of Agricultural Policies, the competition represents a fundamental appointment for the national oil sector.

The selection of the best oils takes place through a rigorous tasting conducted by a jury of expert tasters, which evaluate the organoleptic and qualitative characteristics of the products. Thus, every year the best extra virgin igi in Italy are rewarded, enhancing the work of small and large producers who contribute to keeping the reputation of the oil high.
