The test method: rigorous parameters and impartial measurements
Que Choisir conducted the test on models purchased anonymously at retail dealers, to guarantee an impartial approach and adherent to the reality of the consumer. All measurements took place in an independent laboratory, in controlled conditions for temperature and humidity, following internationally recognized protocols, such as IEC and EN standards (in particular 60312-1).
Several parameters that contributed to the final evaluation:
Ease of use and maintenance: a group of experts assessed the ease of assembly and start, the comfort of the handle, the height of the brush, the accessibility of the controls, the maneuverability on rugs, hard floors, stairs and other surfaces, as well as the practicality of the integrated portable vacuum cleaner.
The simplicity in storing and transporting the vacuum cleaner, ordinary maintenance operations such as emptying the tank, cleaning of the filters and the replacement of the battery, the quality and clarity of the instructions for use have also been analyzed, together with the effectiveness of the washing system for the models they have.
