Eight local administrations have obtained the utmost recognition of “three turtles” as “common plastic free”, the award promoted by Plastic Free Onlus, the voluntary organization committed since 2019 in contrasting plastic pollution.

The award ceremony of the fourth edition was held on 8 March Naples, at the Mediterranean Theater.

But what does it mean to be a common plastic free? The evaluation was based on 23 rigorous criteriaincluding the Urban waste managementawareness campaigns and the Fight against illegal abandonment. The municipalities were rewarded with a score ranging from 1 to 3 turtlessymbol of the struggle for environmental protection.

There are 122 villages, villages and Italian cities that have distinguished themselves for the fight against illegal abandonments, for the promotion of responsible behavior and the awareness works in the area as well as for the commitment in a virtuous management of urban waste.
