The Ministry of Health has ordered the immediate recall of some batches of branded organic eggs The Golden Eggsold in supermarkets in packs of two and six pieces. The measure was adopted as a precaution after reports of possible contamination from Salmonella enterica serotype Enteritidisa bacterium that can cause even serious gastrointestinal infections, especially in children, the elderly and people with reduced immune defenses.

Health authorities invite consumers not to use the eggs involved in the recall and to return them to the point of sale where they were purchased, where they can obtain a replacement or refund.
The presence of salmonella in food represents a serious risk to public health. The infection, which is transmitted through the consumption of contaminated foods, can cause fever, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea within a few hours of ingestion. For this reason, the Ministry recommends maximum attention and compliance with the instructions provided.
