Plastic forks, brushes, coins, old colored pencils, fabrics, even electrical cables: these are the materials favorite by the Colombian artist Federico Uribes, a real recycling magician!

His works release a unique charm because Uribes manages to give the waste materials a completely new, curious and unpredictable appearance. He does not change them with traditional pictorial or sculptural interventions, but assembles them with an almost obsessive skill, giving life to visual stories of great impact.

With a highly emotional narrative sensitivity, Uribes builds worldwide worlds of details: Forests, seas, jungle, animals and human figures take shape from forgotten materials. The result are immersive installations, full of color and movement, which at a distance look like traditional paintings or sculptures, but which up closely reveal their surprising composition.
To the electric cables He even dedicated a series of works entitled “CONECTADO”where the coldness of the material is transformed into sinuous lines, feathers, portraits and landscapes of life pulsating.

No less powerful are the Sculptures dedicated to animals, beauty symbols but also witnesses of social and environmental woundslike the lion and tiger made with bullets of bullets.

Among the materials that often reuse also include colored fabrics and pencils, which URIBE assembles giving life to visual and symbolic experiencescapable of enchanting, entertaining and making you think together.

What can I say, his art represents a perfect combination of sustainability, innovation and expressive strength.
