In Italy, every day, millions of liters of water end up uselessly down the drain while we wait for thewaterfall of the shower becomes hot. A common solution is to install cheap shower heads, as suggested by ENEA, but this does not solve the problem of cold water flowing before the hot water arrives. The Belgian start-up Heauhowever, has introduced an innovative technology that collects and stores hot water, thus reducing waste and consumption in an intelligent way.
How the water recovery system works
The Heau system is based on a technology that uses two insulated compartments, capable of retaining the heat of the residual water for several days. This system ensures that hot water is immediately available for the next shower, avoiding throwing away cold water unnecessarily. Furthermore, the cold water is diverted to a compartment where it is instantly heated and sent to the mixer, thus ensuring a continuous and optimized flow.
According to Heau, an average user could save up to 4,000 liters of water per year and reduce energy waste by around 110 kWh. Installation is simple and does not require major interventions. With the Heau system, it is possible to enjoy a shower at an ideal temperature, with a continuous flow and without waste, contributing to greater sustainability and respect for the environment.
At the moment, the shower water recovery system of the Belgian start-up Heau is not available on the Italian market. However, there are interesting alternatives already on the market for those who want to reduce water consumption and improve home energy efficiency. Systems like E-Showeravailable in Italy, offer the recycling and reuse of water thanks to sophisticated filtering and heat recovery systems.
