The search for a ready-made, quick-to-bake and tasty pizza finds a practical solution in the frozen ones offered by large-scale retailers. Many people prefer to knead and season at home, others choose to have a supply of ready-made pizzas in the freezer, useful for informal dinners or last-minute lunches. The versions on the market vary: different sizes, classic and wholemeal bases, simple or rich seasonings. On a nutritional level, however, there are significant differences. To orient the consumer, it is essential to read the list of ingredients and the values reported on the label.
The new Altroconsumo test examined more than 180 frozen pizzas, evaluating the nutritional composition and list of ingredients. The result shows that few products reach a satisfactory level: only seven earned the “Good” rating. Among these, the Tre Mulini wholemeal pizza (Eurospin) – Cherry Tomato and Rocket stands out as the best among the offers available on the Eurospin shelf, thanks to a good balance between ingredients and nutritional profile.
