New food alert issued by the Ministry of Health that concerns three pistachio lots of Pistachio produced by the Delizie del Sole company. The product is sold exclusively at the Eurospin Italia Spa stores and the withdrawal was necessary due to the presence of Aflatoxins beyond the legal limits.
Let’s find out the lots to pay attention to.
The lots called
The three lots involved by the call are identifiable with the following codes:
Each jar has a weight of 190 grams and a deadline set at 30 June 2026. The indicated manufacturer is Marullo, while the marketing takes place under the company name of Eurospin Italia Spa.
The health authorities recommended not to consume the product and to report it to the store where it was purchased, underlining that the measure is a precautionary but necessary for the safety of consumers.
What are aflatoxins
Aflatoxins are natural toxins generated by some mushrooms that thrive in hot and humid environments. These substances can damage DNA and increase the risk of developing tumors, representing a health danger if ingested in significant quantities.
They can contaminate different foods, including peanuts, shell fruit, grain, rice, dried figs, spices, raw vegetable oils and cocoa seeds. Their presence beyond the limits of the law requires the immediate withdrawal of the products from the market, as in the case of pistachio pesto sold by Eurospin.
What to do if you have the product
The product must not be consumed but must be returned to the store to obtain a refund or a replacement.
