The prestigious Tolfarte record festival returns for its 21st edition, confirming itself as an international reference event that attracts tens of thousands of spectators and artists from all over the world. Over 100 shows will animate the suggestive natural setting of Tolfa, ranging from acrobatic art to music, from theater to art exhibitions, to artistic craftsmanship in collaboration with Hippy Market.
The theme of the 2025 edition is “The wonder”, a common thread that unites all the performances and events scheduled.
Friday 1 August – Opening with the Sonics
The inaugural evening will feature the Sonics with the show “Diamante”, a performance of aerial acrobatics suspended 20 meters high. The company, led by Alessandro Pietrolini and Ilena prudent and recognized by the Ministry of Culture as “Italian excellence in the world”, will perform a majestic steel pyramid challenging the laws of gravity with play of light and breathtaking acrobatic numbers. Saturday 2 August – Tonino Carotone and international artists
The highlight of the second day will be the concert of Tonino Carotone at 11:15 pm in Piazza Matteotti. The original artist of Pamplona, a unique figure in the international music scene, will bring his unmistakable style on stage that merges gypsies, Italian influences and retro atmospheres. Famous for iconic songs such as “Me Cago en el Amor”, created in collaboration with Manu Chao and Roy Paci, Caroton tells through his music travel, passion and identity between irony and poetry. Following the DJ set by DJ Luzy L.
The evening will be anticipated by the performance of the acrobat Irene Croce, of Mistral to the Chinese pole and the duo Tobarich, an international company formed by Francisco Rojas and Mauricio Villarroel who collaborated with the Cirque du Soleil bringing their acro-balance show to the most important world festivals. Vincenzo Bencini and Androgynus are completed by the live program in Piazza Bartoli, and those of Paolo Rasile and Antonio Petronio in Piazza Colelli.
Sunday 3 August – The Black Blues Brothers and the vertical dance
The amphitheater of the Villa Comunale will host the Black Blues Brothers, a company that after the enormous success at the Royal Variety Performance and at the Circus Festival of Monte Carlo (where they received two special prizes), won the Moulin Rouge and the prize as “Best show of the Physical Theater of the Fringe of Edinburgh”. Born from the imagination of Alexander Sunny, the company offers a great acrobatic festival to the rhythm of music with breathtaking jumps, human pyramids, hilarious gags and dance challenges. With a world tour of over 1,000 dates and 650,000 spectators, she established itself as a must for international live entertainment. 5 euro tickets can be purchased here.
The evening will end at 23:00 in Piazza Matteotti with the “clouds and wind” vertical dance show of MatteriViva Performance, a contemporary circus company that for years has conquered the public of Tolfarte thanks to the aesthetic taste of the image, the costumes of great visual impact and the poetry of theatrical research. The show will be preceded by the Reading “Caravan of Wonders” by the writer Caterina Battilocchio, a tribute to the artists who in twenty -one years animated the Festival, accompanied by the dance of Beatrice Gatti.
Tolfarte Kids – The world of imagination
The program dedicated to the little ones will take place on 2 and 3 August in the garden of the Villa Comunale, confirming itself as an extraordinary journey in the world of imagination where play, art and relationship intertwine. Absolute novelty of the 2025 edition is the inauguration of a talk area for adults, with a meeting on the recreational-pedagogical relationship edited by Daniele Antonini and Lucilla de Martinis on Saturday 2 August at 5:15 pm.
The program ranges from fairy tales to Mr. Nipper gramophone to the poetic puppets of theater, from the theatrical improvisation of “Captain Book” edited by Vicolo in Fabula to workshops such as the “Fightening hunt” with Uppù Labs and the animated readings “at school of happiness” by Eugenia Porro for emotional education. There will be the percussion circles with Andrea Di Pierro, Daniele Antonini’s Luna Park games in the amphitheater, the Face Painting and the Balloon Art by Tata Mary. The evenings will end with juggling shows, acrobatics and contemporary circus with international artists such as the Duo Quizas, Divynetz and Pyrovaghi.
Literary space and street artists
For the fourth consecutive year, the collaboration with the Tolfa Gialli & Noir literary festival continues through the literary space “Tolfa Gialli & Noir Off”, set up in the courtyard of the Palazzaccio in collaboration with Newland and eighty -nomineard, which will host big names in Italian yellowish literature.
Throughout the festival, the squares and streets of Tolfa will be animated by dozens of artists including Zastava Orkestar, Mistral, Divynetz, Duo Padella, Linda Veller, Duo Quizas, Pyrovaghi, Goie and Irene Croce, transforming the whole city into an open -air stage where circus art, music and wonder meet in one of the most suggestive frames of Lazio.
