Tonight December 3rd let’s not forget to raise our eyes to the sky: la moona few hours after the flood phase, will still put on a show, “diving” into the Pleiades star cluster. A not very rare sight, but always fascinating. Don’t miss it!
As the UAI explains, on the night between 3 and 4 December the Moon will pass from the constellation of Aries to that of Taurus, approaching the Pleiades star cluster (M 45) until it obscures some stars just before dawn (in the map the sky of December 3, 2025 at approximately 7.00 pm).
There Moon-Pleiades conjunction it is not a very rare event, we encounter it relatively often in the sky, but it is always worthy of attention. This time, it could be particularly suggestive, as our satellite will be close to the flood phase, and not just any flood, but a “super flood”: in the night between 4 and 5 December, the Supermoon of Long Nightswith a lunar disk that will appear larger and brighter than usual
The Pleiadesthen, as we always say, I am one show even alone: in fact the star cluster, far from sources of light pollution (which is actually becoming a huge problem), shows us up to 12 stars and in any case, if the weather is kind, it is not difficult to count 4 or 5 even in the city.
