Tortured chickens for one last egg: the shock investigation into the stone breeding, by Hendrix Genetics

In the municipality of Sabres, in the French department of the Landes, it is found One of the most controversial farms in Europe. Here, the Sasso company He breeds hens and reproduction roosters in conditions that the animal rights association L214 defines in no uncertain terms “barbarous and illegal”.

We are, for the umpteenth time, in front of theSystematic horror of intensive farms: Whether it’s France, Italy or any other country, it doesn’t matter – cruelty is everywhere the same, and continuing to tolerate it is unacceptable. Let’s see in detail what this new investigation discovered.

The survey in the Sasso breeding

According to the investigation, made publicly made, in the stone breeding – company owned by Hendrix Genetics, world leader in animal genetics – Animals are subjected to a prohibited practice: the “complete forced change”, Which consists in depriving the hens of water, food and light up to 7 consecutive days, in order to obtain one last, profitable egg deposition before slaughter.

The images collected by L214 speak clearly: the hens live in tiny cages, stacked on each other, with floors entirely on the metal network, without the possibility of moving or opening the wings. Natural light is completely absent, as well as any access outside.

Many animals are mutilated, in Gauls and hens in fact the crest is removed with a very painful intervention. The reproduction hens then suffer Up to 70 artificial inseminations over just two years – The duration of their whole, short live life.

As if that were not enough, the eggs laid down by hens raised in these conditions are still placed on the market for human consumption. A very serious fact, according to L214, if you consider that The cages used are not equipped or compliant with the European directive On ovaiole hens, and therefore they cannot be legally used for the production of table eggs.

The complaint

This investigation is part of the international open Wing Alliance campaign to end the use of cages in the egg industry. A video published in support of the initiative shows images from over 20 countries, revealing that the suffering of breeding animals is a reality that, unfortunately, knows no boundaries.

After discovering all these macabre details, L214 filed a complaint for illegal mistreatment and marketing of eggs at the Mont-de-Marsan court. The association also requested an urgent meeting with DGAL (Directorate General for Food) to shed light on the regularity of the company’s activities.

We cannot remain indifferent to such cruelty. The hens are not egg machines, but sentient beings that deserve respect and dignity. We can also sign the petition to ask for the end of these inhuman practices and immediate intervention against the Sasso / Hendrix Genetics company.
