The Aurina Valley has reached an important milestone in the field of sustainable tourismsimultaneously obtaining two prestigious awards: the international certification of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and the South Tyrol Sustainability Label Level 3.
This double recognition underlines the exceptional commitment of the South Tyrolean destination towards responsible and environmentally friendly tourism.
Concrete projects for sustainable tourism
The commitment of the Aurina Valley is manifested through concrete and innovative initiatives, among these the Taufrisch projectdedicated to the promotion of local agricultural products, e Kleiner Marktplatza digital platform that facilitates direct connections between farmers and restaurateurs in the area. Particular recognition was also given to the valley’s public transport network, considered a reference model for sustainable mobility.
The role of the Valle Aurina future consortium
These results were achieved thanks to the commitment of the Futuro Valle Aurina Consortium, born from the collaboration between the tourist associations of Campo Tures and Valle Aurina and the Speikboden AG and Klausberg AG ski areas. The Consortium stands out for its integrated approach that combines environmental protection, the valorization of local traditions and social integration.
State-of-the-art accommodation facilities
The commitment to sustainability is also reflected in the valley’s accommodation facilities; the Aparthotel OLM (which we told you about here) and the Hotel Drumlerhof have obtained the South Tyrol Sustainability Label Level 3, while the Hotel Mühlenerhof has achieved Level 1, demonstrating how the entire tourism sector of the valley is embracing this green philosophy.
The Aurina Valley is now preparing to face future challenges with a particular focus on the promotion of sustainable mobility and the protection of natural resources, confirming itself as a destination of excellence for tourism that is aware and respectful of the environment.
