The Lazio Region has decided to strengthen its commitment for youth sport with an extraordinary investment of 24 million euros for the two-year period 2025-26. Thanks to this allocation, the audience of the beneficiaries of vouchers for sport is significantly expanded: over 47 thousand families will be able to receive a contribution of 500 euros to support the sporting practice of children between 6 and 18 years.
The initiative is promoted by the Lazio Region, Regional Directorate of the Business of the Presidency, Tourism, Cinema, Audiovisual and Sport, in collaboration with Sport and Health, and co-financed by the European Union as part of the FSE program+ 2021-2027. The main objective is to encourage physical activity, promote well -being and spread a healthy lifestyle, giving priority to families who pay in conditions of economic and social disadvantage.
The increase in funds and the families involved
Originally, the project provided for a financing of 10 million euros which made it possible to cover part of the suitable questions. Thanks to the increase of additional 14 million, the 27 thousand families proved suitable but remained without economic coverage will finally be able to receive the 500 euro voucher. With this measure, all the families who had applied and were suitable will be able to take advantage of the contribution.
The sports associations involved
The voucher can be used to register their children with courses and activities in one of the 1749 associations, sports clubs and third sector entities that have joined the project throughout the Lazio region. The contribution is intended for families with ISEE up to 50 thousand euros, thus extending the benefit to those who have medium-high income.
How to access vouchers
In the next few days, all the information necessary to submit the application and receive the contribution will be published on the official Sport and Health website. The initiative represents a concrete step of the Lazio Region to spread the culture of sport and encourage the healthy growth of young citizens.
