Collection atmosphere, soft lights and a menu designed to tell ancient stories. Dao Bistrot Jonio has transformed the feast of mid -autumn at a convivial moment, bringing to Rome the charm of a tradition that has been accompanied by the arrival of the brightest moon of the year for centuries.
This anniversary, known as Zhōngqiūjié (中秋节), was born as an imperial rite to celebrate the harvest and the family meeting. Even today, in Chinese cities, families and friends find themselves outdoors to observe the moon, share sweets and stories, in a night that combines poetry and gastronomy.
In this suggestive setting, Dao’s cuisine has once again shown its ability to combine authenticity and cultural story.
A menu that smells of autumn
Guided by chef Yang Zhen Chun, the tasting proposed a selection of dishes that tell the variety of traditional Chinese cuisine, without western adaptations.
Among the most interesting tastings, the fried rice ravioli, fragrant and stuffed with vegetables and mushrooms, and the spaghetti of Xiann with carrots, cabbage and sweet peas: dishes that, in their simplicity, return typical perfumes and textures of the Fujian kitchens, the coastal region of origin of the chef.
The rhythm of the dinner alternated more delicate dishes with determined flavors, building a coherent path, intense and deeply rooted in tradition.
This special menu will be available for the public from 7 to 12 October, offering everyone the opportunity to experience the experience of the Feast of mid -autumn directly at the table.
The sweets of the moon: an ancient and poetic gesture
The ending was entrusted to Yue Bing, the famous Moon sweets.

These small decorated desserts, filled with sweet pasta such as sesame or green tea, are the symbol of the feast of mid -autumn. They are shared between family members and friends as a wish for prosperity and good omen, often observing the moon all together.
Taste them in Rome, under an equally bright moon, gave the evening a touch of poetry: a suspended moment, which united culture and flavor in a natural way.
Dao bistrot jonio, a new stage of an authentic path
Open in July, Dao Bistrot Jonio marks an important stage in the evolution of the Dao brand. It was born from the recovery of the space that for years hosted the first Dao Restaurant, now transferred to the elegant headquarters in via Sardegna, and represents an interesting synthesis between memory and new energies.

If the current Dao Restaurant is today a reference point for those looking for the most rigorous and refined Chinese cuisine, the Bistrot of Viale Jonio focuses on a more informal, convivial and accessible atmosphere, without giving up the quality that has made a solid name on the Roman gastronomic scene.
The feast of mid -autumn proved to be the perfect context to tell this new phase, in which Dao shows that he can renew himself without distorting himself.
