The Family Boat, one of the main boats of the Globol Sumud Flotilla directed to Gaza to break the naval block imposed by Israel, would have been hit by a drone this night in Tunisian waters, off the port Sidi Bou Said.
The Flotilla activists report it, who in several videos show what happened from multiple perspectives.
In one, taken from another flotilla vessel, the images show a flying and bright object that ends up straight on the boat. Another recovery is that of the security cameras of the same boat affected from above: here you can see the activists who look at first in the sky and then scream and try to get away from the point of the impact.

The six activists on board are all in good health, while the vehicle has brought some damage to the main bridge and the subcoperate hold.
According to the Global Sumud Flotilla, a drone hit the boat. Francesca Albanese, special speaker of the United Nations on the occupied Palestinian territories, who was in Tunisia, also arrived on the spot:
I’m here because I live a few minutes away – explained Albanese – what is happening is that people are shocked here: according to the first information, it seems that the main Flotilla ship was attacked by a drone. Obviously this fact will be verified ». To the journalists of Reuters, then, he specified that: «We do not know who conducted the attack, but it would not be a surprise if it was Israel. There is a historian of attacks that have been carried out against Flotilla. If confirmed, this is also an attack also on Tunisian sovereignty.

The Tunisian authorities immediately denied that the fleet was attacked: the National Guard said that the fire would be caused by a cigarette or a fire to the rescue jackets.
Opposite versions, same basic truth: those who bring food and medicines today sail in a gray area where humanitarian law is worth alternate days.

If even the shadow of an attack on a civil boat holders, it is a moral watershed: it means to move the war from the front to the humanitarian corridors. This ambiguity is not a detail: it is a strategy. It is striking (or let it happen) and then everything drowns in the “is not clear”. Meanwhile, the EU repeats the mantra of the “official channels” while a block that has lasted for years continues to choke a million and a half people.
The flops, wider than all the previous ones, was born precisely to break this scheme: small boats, civilians on board, a route of nonviolent disobedience that denounces the siege and tries to force indifference.
This is why it is scary. Because it shows, live, the distance between the declarations on “values” and reality also in the open sea.
