The Teacher Card for the 2025/26 school year is still inactive: the platform has not been reopened and teachers cannot yet use the bonus. On the school front, tension is growing, with unions such as the Teachers’ Guild defining the situation “unacceptable” at a time when professional development should be a priority.
Why hasn’t the platform been reactivated?
From 31 August 2025 the official platform is in fact suspended to allow the transition from the 2024/25 to the 2025/26 academic year (Teacher’s Charter). The delay is mainly due to the wait for the inter-ministerial decree (Ministry of Education and Merit and Ministry of Economy and Finance) which has yet to define the amount, criteria and operating methods: without this decree, the platform cannot start.
Regulatory news: what really changes
Starting from the school year In any case, some important changes should arrive in 2025/26:
What are the possible risks for teachers?
What you can do now: practical guide for teachers
- regularly checks the official website of the Teacher’s Charter and union communications: the platform continues to be “temporarily closed from 08/31/2025” for the transition to the new school year
- plan your training spending now: write down courses, books, materials, events that you could use as soon as the platform reopens, so as to be ready for activation
- check your contractual situation: check if you fall into the new categories of beneficiaries (teachers with contracts until 30 June or educational staff), so as not to lose the right to the bonus
- prepare for reporting: keep track of invoices, receipts and time – because from 2025/26 expenses will need to be reported within 90 days
