The history of Mare Fuori up to today

Set in the Juvenile Penal Institute of Naples, Mare Fuori tells the story of young prisoners who seek redemption in a ruthless environment. Over the course of the first five seasons, the plots intertwined around characters such as Rosa Ricci, Carmine Di Salvo and Edoardo Conte, with Camorra feuds, impossible loves and continuous twists in the background.

The finale of the fifth season left everything hanging: Carmela rose to criminal power by eliminating Donna Wanda, Milos died in the arms of a now remorseful Luigi, and Tommaso threw himself in front of Rosa to protect her from an attack, and was seriously injured.

What to expect in season 6 (spoiler alert)

The new season will start again from that final ambush, Tommaso’s condition and the identity of the instigator will be among the first issues to be resolved. The bond between him and Rosa is destined to evolve profoundly after his gesture.

On the criminal front, Carmela and Simone – the latter indicated by Donna Wanda as her successor – will find themselves on a collision course for control of the drug dealing squares. Rosa risks being crushed in the middle of this war.

Inside the IPM, Commander Massimo has Lino, the guard with increasingly suspicious behavior, in his sights. Meanwhile, the management of the institute changes face: a new director arrives in Sofia’s place with a completely different educational approach. Outside the walls, Gianni – finally free – rediscovers his passion for music thanks to his meeting with Gigi D’Alessio.

To confirm the longevity of the project, Rai Fiction is already working on the seventh and eighth seasons.

The cast that will be part of the sixth season

Maria Esposito remains at center stage as Rosa Ricci. Alongside her, Carmine Recano (Massimo), Vincenzo Ferrera (Beppe), Giovanna Sannino (Carmela) and Nicolas Maupas (Simone) return. Manuele Velo (Tommaso) will have a more central role than in past seasons.

Among the new features, three detained sisters ready to upset the balance of the women’s section. Behind the camera comes Beniamino Catena, already known for Doc – In your handswho takes the place of Ludovico Di Martino.

Mare Fuori has built its success on raw but deeply human stories, capable of talking about mistakes, second chances and freedom – even internal freedom. With this sixth season, the series is preparing for a new chapter that promises to further raise the stakes.
