Who is Delia Buglisi: classical training, contemporary soul
Born in 1999 and originally from Paternò (Catania), Delia Buglisi is both a singer-songwriter and musician. Her artistic history starts from a solid academic education: after studying at the Conservatory of her city, she chooses not to remain confined to the classical repertoire, but to use its technical rigor as the basis for a personal, free and strongly identifying path.
His stylistic signature arises precisely from this meeting between discipline and instinct. As for his music, it is placed in a hybrid space, where folk elements dialogue with contemporary electronic music. Delia made a precise choice: to use Sicilian as a universal language and not just to celebrate her roots. In 2024 he started collaborations with authors and musicians already established on the Italian scene and goes on important stages, also opening Serena Brancale’s concert.
The X Factor experience and the song “Sicilia bedda”
2025 marks a decisive transition for Delia Buglisi: the experience with X Factor Italia, a talent show where she earned third place after the journey with coach Jack La Furia. Right from the auditions, he attracted attention for his interpretative maturity and for his choice to propose a real suite of rearranged songs, winning over the general public. The classical training emerges in the attention to dynamics and harmonious choices, while the contemporary approach manifests itself in the freedom with which it crosses genres.
The most emblematic moment comes with the presentation of his unreleased “Sicilia bedda”. The song is a declaration of belonging and at the same time a confession: it speaks of love for one’s land, of the bond with the origins and of that melancholy that accompanies those who leave home to pursue a dream but also of a people who do not give up and do not lower their heads. In this sense, Delia Buglisi embodies a generation that does not deny its roots but brings them with it, transforming them into musical language. Today the young singer-songwriter is engaged in her Sicilia Bedda Tour, which is enjoying great success around Italy.
