Lego collectors and Goonies lovers are about to have their own set: from November 4th it will be possible to purchase a brick version of the 80s cult film, which has become a true pop culture icon. Even if the set, as often happens, buying it is not for everyone, at a selling price of 299.99 euros.

Who are the Goonies
In 1985 the adventures of the group of boys from Astoria, inOregonwon the hearts of millions of viewers. The first chapter, directed by Richard Donner and produced by Steven Spielbergtold the story of a group of friends who, to avoid eviction from their neighborhood, set out on the trail of the legendary treasure of the pirate One-Eyed Willy.
The film, thanks to its mix of adventure, humor and friendship, grossed 124 million dollars worldwide and became an icon of pop culture of the 80s, so much so that it influenced numerous subsequent films and series, including Stranger Things.
Despite the enormous success, making a sequel has always seemed difficult, both because Steven Spielberg he was never too attracted to the project, both because Richard Donnerdespite expressing interest, was never able to find a suitable script.
An idea for a TV series was also shelved, probably due to the success of similar products already on the market. The only concrete proposal in recent years was that of the producer Gail Bermanwho had thought of a story in which a group of kids would do it again The Goonies scene by scene, but then nothing more was heard.
The news that drove fans crazy only arrived last year, when the project to actually make a sort of Goonies 2 became official for the first time: in reality the filming, which seemed to have started just last summer, hasn’t started yet, but Potsy Ponciroli he delivered a first draft of the screenplay and is working on the second version.
The Goonies Lego version
While fans are crossing their fingers hoping to see the 40-year-awaited sequel soon, they will be able to buy the Lego brick version. In fact, starting from November 4th, the set will be on sale, although at a not very popular price, 299.99 euros).
There are 2912 pieces that try to reconstruct the boys’ famous adventures, with 12 minifigures including Mike “Mikey” Walsh, Richard “Data” Wang, Clark “Mouth” Devereaux, Lawrence “Chunk” Cohen, Mamma Fratelli, Andrea “Andy” Carmichael and One-Eyed Willy.
The cast of the film The Goonies is mainly made up of children, all with very different and adorable characteristics – explains Marina Stampoli, Senior Model Designer at the LEGO Group – So we couldn’t exclude anyone! It wouldn’t be an adventure without the ‘bad guys’, so we included the Brothers too, and our story wouldn’t be complete without the legendary pirate and expert obstacle course designer, One-Eyed Willy. The minifigures have a variety of accessories, like Data’s spy devices or Mouth’s hairbrush, because he has to look cool even when the bad guys chase him inside a cave! We even designed new elements for Sloth’s pirate hat and bandana, and Mamma Fratelli’s hair and cap
The project, born as Lego Ideashas finally reached the final stage, and from November 4th fans will be able to purchase it. The only “discordant” note, as always, is the price, 299.99 euros.
