At just 14 years old, Buddy Muns has shown that age is not a limit when it comes to making a difference. During the summer school holidays, the young man from Devizes (UK) launched the “Lunch Box Buddy” project, an initiative that provides free meals to children who risk remaining without a regular diet when schools are closed.
The goal of the thousand meals
This summer, Buddy has achieved an extraordinary goal: to distribute its thousandth free meal. A result that not only testifies to his constancy, but also the concrete impact of his action on the community. The idea was born listening to the difficulties of a friend and, from that moment, he decided that no peers should have faced hunger during the holidays.

The support of companies and the community
The initiative has not gone unnoticed. In addition to the support of the residents, different realities have chosen to support Buddy: from the big brands such as Warburtons and Cathedral City, to local businesses such as Bakkavor, who contributed with a significant donation. This support has allowed the project to grow, guaranteeing not only packed lunches, but also breakfasts, dinners, essential products and even games for the little ones.
An experience that forms
For Buddy, this path was not only altruism, but also a life lesson. The teenager tells that the initiative helped him strengthen his self -confidence and develop social skills. While receiving admiration for his commitment, he underlines that the real goal remains simple: help those who need.
The pride of the family and the city
The father, Dominic Muns, councilor of the County of Wiltshire, said he was “immensely proud” of his son, underlining how the family values of solidarity found a concrete form thanks to the determination of Buddy. The city of Devizes, with its community spirit, responded with enthusiasm, transforming the project into an example of how collaboration can bring tangible benefits.
A look at the future
With a few weeks of summer holidays in front, Buddy will continue to distribute meals in Devizes’ market place. His mission remains clear: no child has to face hunger during school holidays. A commitment that has already conquered its community and that could inspire similar initiatives in other cities.
