All this is the result of the application of a powerful instrument of solidarity which, unfortunately, is not yet known by many: the “Solidarity hour bank“. A simple but deeply human concept, in which time becomes a gift and solidarity translates into concrete actions, from work shifts to daily choices, in small gestures that build a real community.
Aisla was also recognized by the importance of this initiative – the Italian Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association – which wanted to express their gratitude to those who made this support possible.
You have chosen to stay next to it, when the disease tends to isolate – wrote President Fulvia Masimelli in an open letter – and you have shown that the work can also be a place of care and community.
It is the words of Gezim, however, that touch us more than anything else, telling with profound emotion what it means to receive such support:
I can face this moment with serenity thanks to the generosity of my colleagues and the company. If they are here, it is thanks to them. They gave me the time necessary to focus on this new path that the disease imposes on me and my family, tells.
Gezim does not hide that the ALS has removed a lot, but he also taught him to rediscover the profound value of human relationships. A story that reminds us that, when work becomes a community, you can face any difficulty with greater strength and hope.
