With the entry into force of the new decree in May, important simplifications for the access and installation of photovoltaic systems are foreseen, with news also on the compulsory insurance policy.

How energy income works

Energy income is a loan a lodge which allows you to install photovoltaic systems for domestic use, with power between 2 and 6 kW. For the two years 2024-2025, the total fund amounts to 200 million euros, divided into:

The loan fully covers the costs for the installation of the photovoltaic system, allowing the beneficiary families to produce energy for self -consumption without incurring any expense. The unused energy can be sold to the GSE (Energy Services Manager) for a period of 20 years, thus contributing to the financing of the Fund.

Who can apply

Energy income is reserved for families with Isee less than 15,000 euros, or to 30,000 euros for those with at least four dependent children. In order to access the facility, it is necessary that the beneficiary will reside in a property of ownership, in which the photovoltaic system will be installed. The plant must have a power between 2kw and 6kw and will be connected to a consumption user with an active electrical supply contract.

Each family can take advantage of this facility only once. The possibility of obtaining double benefits for the same family unit is excluded and financing for plants aimed at satisfying regulatory obligations of integration of renewable sources in buildings is not provided.

Mandatory insurance and new rules for companies

To submit the application, it is necessary to choose a company that will create the photovoltaic system. Companies must be in compliance with the training and updating requirements necessary to install systems from renewable sources, and must take out a ten -year multi -selling insurance policy. This policy will have to cover, in addition to the damage to the system and the risks of disservice, also any damage deriving from IT attacks. Companies can contact various insurance companies to cover the different risks. The cost of the policy is included in the expenses for which the company will be able to obtain a refund.

The GSE will provide a list of qualified installers, to whom families can contact to create the photovoltaic system.
