There are 15 cats disappeared in circumstances still to be clarified in a month between the hamlets of Lillaz and Sonveulla, villages of the Municipality of Cogne in Valle d’Aosta, two were found lifeless closed in bags, while a GPS collar belonging to another disappeared animal was found deactivated on a lawn.
A distressing story, such that the LNDC Animal Protection has presented denunciation of the authorities to ask to clarify and try to trace the artifice of these disappearances of animals as soon as possible, who have always been used to moving free between houses, woods and meadows.
Unfortunately, it is increasingly unlikely that the dynamics of disappearances can be connected to a natural phenomenon, as hypothesized in the first days by the press that resumed the news – explains Piera Rosati, president of Lndc Animal Protection. Gatti’s kidnappings do not represent a new problem, and there is a decisive response from everyone. These episodes, which occurred in a very short period of time in a restricted area, are certainly the work of some unscrupulous person who acts undisturbed by exploiting the trust of animals towards humans.

In addition to having filed a complaint, the Association asks the necroscopic exam, if not already prepared, on the bodies of the two cats found dead in the bags and launches an appeal to the citizens of Cogne and the two municipalities of Lillaz and Sonveulla, inviting them not only to pay the utmost attention to their animals and immediately report suspicious situations to the local authorities, but also to write if they had useful information to their investigations: lawyer@lndcanimalprotation.org.
Every detail, even apparently insignificant, could prove to be decisive to identify the managers. LNDC places the same invitation to anyone who is already in possession of useful information regarding the disappearances of this month without giving in to the silence, to find the or the responsible of these atrocities, before other victims are made.
