Fame with caught in providence

Caprio had become a real television star thanks to the program Caught in providencein which the proceedings of the Municipal Court were transmitted, of which he was chief judge. Unlike other judicial shows, its processes were characterized by understanding, humor and kindness. This style allowed him to conquer millions of spectators: his videos have overcome the billion views, transforming it into a viral phenomenon loved globally.

The Italian roots and the humble origins

Frank Caprio was the son of Italian immigrants. His father Antonio, originally from Teano in the province of Caserta, worked as a greengrocer, while the mother was American but of Italian origins. Raised in the Italian-American neighborhood of Federal Hill in Providence, from a young age he contributed to the family budget with small jobs such as dishwasher and lustraccarpe. Those experiences of modest life shaped his character, teaching him the value of dignity and respect for anyone.

The career: not just judiciary

After graduation and a short career as a teacher of history and civic education, Caprio studied law by attending evening courses at Suffolk University. In 1985 he entered the judiciary, becoming one of the most esteemed judges of the Rhode Island over time.

In addition to the toga, he had a strong political commitment as a city councilor and delegate of the Democratic Party, and distinguished himself for his philanthropic activity, establishing scholarships in memory of his father to support deserving students.

Has been able to combine rigor and humanity

Loved and respected not only as a magistrate, but also as a husband, father and grandfather, Frank Caprio will remain in the collective memory for his rare talent: knowing how to combine rigor and humanity. His inheritance is not only made of sentences, but of small acts of kindness that inspired millions of people. His message was simple but at the same time very powerful: justice can be firm, but without losing contact with the humanity of those in front of them.
