If you have these pacifiers in the house, immediately stop making them use your child: 6 lots have been called back to Bisfenolo A (BPA)

Curaden, a Swiss company known for its products for oral hygiene and childhood sold with the Curaprox brand, has announced the urgent call of some pacifiers of pacifiers due to the possible presence of BPA (Bisfenol A), a substance potentially harmful to health. The decision comes after a test conducted by the Slovenian organization for consumer protection (ZPS) has detected traces of BPA in the pacifiers of this brand, results then confirmed by independent checks.

To protect children’s safety, the company immediately suspended the sale of the products concerned and started the official call.

The pacifiers involved and how to identify them

There are six:

The lot of lot is indicated on the right front side of the pacifier, and for parents it is therefore very simple to check if the product in their possession is affected by the call.

Curaden recommends immediately interrupting the use of the pacifier if it belongs to one of the indicated lots, as the part involved, the shield, can contain BPA. The medical silicone teat, the part actually sucked by the child, is not interested.

Reimbursement

Curaden made it known that all the pacifiers concerned will be reimbursed in full. Those who have purchased the product at physical sales points can return it directly to the shop without the need for receipt, while online purchases made from January 1, 2025 will be automatically reimbursed through customer service.

What risks?

Despite the BPA values detected exceed the legal limits of the European Union, Curaden reassures that the scientific authorities have not found a acute toxic risk. It also underlines that the immediate suspension of the products and the timely call reflect the policy of transparency and protection of consumers of the company.

To prevent similar problems in the future, quality controls will be strengthened, interior work flows improved and started collaborations with independent workshops and scientific consultative committees, maintaining high safety standards for all products intended for children.
