Can a free ticket change the way we experience the city? In Rome, yes. With “Spettatori in Movimento – Discovering the city’s theaters”, until December 14th you can go to the theater for free in some of the capital’s key places of inclusion: from the Tor Bella Monaca Theater to the Villa Lazzaroni Theatre, passing through the Diamante Space and the Quarticciolo Library Theatre.
The initiative, conceived by Casa dello Spectatore and supported by Roma Capitale as part of the PNRR – Caput Mundi, promotes an idea of horizontal culture: accessible, without barriers and capable of connecting people.
Each event combines performance and dialogue: in addition to viewing, the public participates in theatrical mediation meetings, to discover together how to read a scene, recognize emotions, share ideas. No skills needed, just curiosity.
Theater as a collective journey
The Spectatori in Movimento programming embraces all tastes and ages, intertwining genres and languages: from contemporary theater to new female dramaturgy, from monologues to musical experiments. There is also a special cycle for families with children, where adults and children sit side by side to laugh, think and grow together.
The shows range from “Pinocchio all to laugh at” to “Legami”, passing through works dedicated to the biographies of women, musical stories and great contemporary authors. Every appointment becomes an opportunity to meet and discover new ways of being together, in the name of creativity and mutual listening.

Theater is not a luxury, but a right. Rome makes it tangible: free, open, for everyone. In a time when everyone is focused on their screen, theater is the way to look each other in the eye and experience shared emotions. It is an act of cultural citizenship which, with “Spettatori in Movimento”, invites us to meet in person.
