In the CEIP San Francisco in Barbate, in the province of Cadiz, an educational activity designed for the class blog has transformed into something much bigger. The fifth primary students rewrote the text of The pearl by Rosalía, adapting it to a theme they know well: the fight against bullying. The result is a simple video which, however, managed to overcome the confines of the classroom and quickly spread on social media.

Children’s language to talk to children
The project began as an exercise in language and metrics, but immediately took a different direction. The boys chose to use a song that they feel is their own, a cultural reference close to their daily life, to tell a reality that often remains submerged. The central message is clear and repeated without rhetoric: every person has value, beyond their differences. The use of music allows us to avoid the didactic tone, making the content more immediate and authentic.
The most touching verses
Hey you, look at me carefully, stop and Listen what I want to tell you. That my friends are real, that all together we will never let each other down.
the little ones begin to sing in the first verse of their song. And again, referring to the bully:
Look at me, I learned my lesson, what you say about me doesn’t matter to me at all, I have my own light, my own identity. Even if you try to hide it, it will shine again. I came here to learn, today everything will change. If you say something mean to me, I won’t even stop to listen.
But the most powerful is the refrain:
Making fun of your classmates? You don’t know what friendship is. You think you’re the center of the universe and then everyone else doesn’t matter.
Finally the children add:
There are more and more of us and more we will no longer allow you to hurt us. Loyalty and faithfulness they are a language you will never understand.
A message that reached Rosalía
The diffusion of the video grew day after day, until it reached Rosalía herself, who decided to publicly comment on the initiative with a message of appreciation. A gesture that gave further visibility to the children’s work and strengthened its meaning by amplifying the reach of the message.
Why this video worked
The success of the initiative can be explained by some key elements. First of all, spontaneity: the protagonists are children who speak with their language, without filters. Then creativity, which transformed a school assignment into a tool of collective expression. Finally, the educational value: the message is not imposed from above, but built together, making the emotional and social impact stronger.
The case of CEIP San Francisco shows how schools can address complex issues such as bullying without resorting to lectures or slogans. When music, technology and active participation meet, learning becomes deeper and more lasting. This video is proof that emotional education can find new and effective forms, capable of speaking not only to students, but also to the outside world.
