How to purify the air at home? Of course you have to open the windows regularly to let the air circulate, but there are also some natural remedies, some of which have their roots in antiquity and popular tradition.
We have already told you about Palo Santo and smudge sticks, bunches of dried herbs traditionally used to purify environments, objects and even people, but you probably still don’t know theold grandmother’s remedy which consists of burn a clove of garlic at home.
Garlic, in the popular sphere, has always been considered a very powerful amulet against evil spirits, vampires and witches. Just think of the braid of garlic used to ward off the most famous of vampires, Dracula!
Beliefs that probably have to do with his (real) ones beneficial properties, primarily those antibacterial and antimicrobial, which are certainly not just legend.
If added to the dishes we bring to the table it is a panacea, the same can be said of the scent it gives off when burned, considered purifying and relaxing.
The purifying aspect apparently depends on the presence of allicin, an antibacterial substance, antiviral and antifungal. Furthermore its smoke has the ability to neutralize bad odors present in closed environments.
But how to burn garlic to benefit from its properties at home? You must first remove the peel from the clove, place it on a heat-resistant support and light it with a lighter, leaving it to burn for a few seconds.
The flame must be extinguished, allowing the smoke to spread throughout the house for about fifteen minutes. How many times do you repeat the operation? Just do it from time to time using just one clove, no more, ventilating the room well.
The smoke from garlic also helps keep insects away… good to know!
