The GDT, a German company for naturalistic photography, presented the winning images of the prestigious “European Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2024” competition, among which the Spaniard Jaime Rojo triumphed with the shot “In the monarch’s forest”. The image portrays monarch butterflies (Danaus plexippo) placed on the trees of the sanctuary of the monarch butterflies of Mexico.
The winners of the other categories in the race are no less, starting with Luca Melcarne, who triumphed in the “birds” category with his powerful black and white shot.
Equally varied is the world of mammals, where Robert Canis triumphed with the photo of a fox portrayed in the middle of the darkness of the forest.

The “other animals” category is dedicated to the appearance and habits of reptiles, amphibians, insects, spiders and invertebrates. Here the surreal shot of Theo Bossboom triumphed: a giant spider web seems to completely cover the surrounding nature.

In the category “plants and mushrooms”, which highlights their beauty but also their way of adapting to the different habitats, won Svetlana Ivanenko.

In the “Landscape” category, the surreal landscape of “Check My Dream” triumphed: a desert with dreamlike colors.

Moving on the “underwater world” category, entirely dedicated to the oceans, rivers and lakes, Angel Fitor was winning the victory.

Jaime Culebras won in the “Man and Nature” category while among the young photographers under 14 we find Alberto Roman Gomez with a bird lying next to a large chain with a padlock.
