Chiara Ferragni will go to trial for aggravated fraud for the “Pandoro Gate” and Easter eggs

Chiara Ferragni was postponed to trial on charges of aggravated fraud For the case linked to the sale of the pandoro “Pink Christmas” and the Easter eggs precious sweets. The Milan prosecutor decided to proceed with the indictment after months of investigations.

According to the accusation, the advertising campaign of the Christmas pandoro, launched by Balocco together with the influencer in December 2022, would have deceived consumers. Ferragni had in fact promised that part of the proceeds would be donated to research to combat the osteosarcoma and the Ewing sarcoma, but in reality the sum intended for this purpose was already previously allocated. The same accusation also concerns the promotional campaign of the Easter eggs precious sweets.

The direct summons in court has been notified to Ferragni’s lawyers, and the first hearing of the trial is set for the 23 September. The other suspects include Alessandra Balocco, head of the homonymous confectionery company, Franco Cannillo of precious sweets, and the former general manager of Chiara Ferragni, Fabio Maria Damato.

The sanctions against the digital entrepreneur are already different

The story, in addition to receiving great media attention, has already led to different sanctions, in particular from the Antitrustust. In the case of the pandoro, the antitrust had inflicted one fine of one million euros in Ferragni for “deceptive advertising”. The influencer, through his lawyers, has renounced the appeal And he welded the sanction.

Balocco, on the other hand, had filed an administrative appeal that led to a postponement of the procedure. As for Easter eggs, Ferragni found an agreement with the Antitrust, paying 1.2 million euros in favor of the I Children’s Associationthus avoiding the continuation of the procedure.

At the same time, the Codacons, the consumer association, had filed complaints and had lined up in defense of the consumers who had purchased the pandoro. However, last month Ferragni reached a Agreement with Codacons: the influencer will compensate consumers with a compensation of 150 Euro for each and will donate 200,000 euros in favor of initiatives for women victims of violence, a theme that is particularly close to them.

This agreement has been welcomed positively, but the prosecutor’s decision to postpone it to the trial marks a new phase of the legal affair. Ferragni, convinced of his innocence, commented:

I sincerely believed that not It was necessary to celebrate a process To demonstrate that he has never scammed anyone. Unfortunately, I will have to live with this accusation again, which I consider deeply unjust.
