Europe is preparing to welcome a work destined to revolutionize the entertainment industry: a massive theme park dedicated to Dragon Ball Z will be built a short distance from Paris. The official announcement came after the meeting at the Elysée between Emmanuel Macron and Mohammed bin Salman, crowning over a year and a half of diplomatic and commercial negotiations. Born from the common passion of the French president and the Saudi crown prince for the famous work of the master Akira Toriyama and for manga in general, as revealed by Macron himself on social media, the agreement aims to position France as the world epicenter of pop culture and Japanese animation.

The project involves a colossal investment plan of six billion euros, entirely supported by Qiddiya, a branch of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund (PIF). The new attraction center will be created in Cergy-Pontoise, in the north-western outskirts of the French capital, right on the land where the Mirapolis fairytale park was inaugurated in 1987. The structure will be part of a larger complex including three amusement parks and promises to generate an extraordinary employment impact: estimates speak of 22,000 direct jobs (with peaks of up to 80,000 induced salaries), presenting itself as a formidable competitor to giants already established in the region such as Disneyland Paris and Asterix Park.
The settings and attractions
Although the timing and final inauguration date remain confidential for now, the project proposal draws deep inspiration from the twin park currently being completed in Qiddiya City, near Riyadh. Fans of the manga will be immersed in seven iconic geographic zones reconstructed down to the smallest detail, among which Master Roshi’s Kame House, the headquarters of the Capsule Corporation and Lord Beerus’ Planet stand out.
The park will host more thirty cutting-edge attractionshe understood five main roller coasters and immersive experiences in simulated reality that will retrace the saga from its first steps up to the era of Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super. The symbolic installation of the entire complex will be one monumental reproduction of the dragon Shenron 70 meters highwithin whose curved body an imposing high-speed roller coaster will be unfolded, all flanked by a vast network of themed hotels, restaurants and shopping areas.
