What is the eclipse of the moon
THE’Luna eclipse It is a suggestive natural phenomenon that occurs when the shadow of the earth, illuminated by the sun, completely or partially obscures our satellite, when the latter is in the “full” phase while sun, earth and it are aligned in this order.
In other words, the sun illuminates the earth, which projects its shadow on the moon, which, if the eclipse is total, will appear red Because among all the components of the white light, our atmosphere lets only this component pass (the phenomenon is called Rayleight Scatteringthe same that makes us appear the blue sky during the day and red in the evening).

The moon will be full on March 14, 2025 technically at 7.55 Italian time, when in our country, it will not be more visible as under the horizon. However, the eclipse will begin much earlier, first of all with the penumbral phase, perhaps less spectacular but no less fascinating than the real eclipse.
In particular, in this phase, our satellite transits only for the penumbra of the earth, without being hidden by its shadow. The lunar disc will therefore be still visible but “faded”. Sun, earth and moon must however be aligned in this order as in the Eclipse of the Moon.
We will also be able to see live the beginning of the partial eclipse, scheduled at 6.09 Italian time. Unfortunately, the moon will then be under the horizon for the maximum, scheduled at 7.58 and for the term, at 11.00.

The event, as we have seen, will take place on March 14, when our hemisphere admires the Moon of the worm (or Lander Moon).
