All ready for the Eclisse di Luna del Verme, the first great celestial show of the year

We do not lack a romantic appointment atAlba of March 14thwhen we admire theTotal eclipse of the Verme Moonthe first great celestial show of the year. In Italy we can actually see the first part, but streaming is already ready for everything else. We don’t miss!

What is the eclipse of the moon

THE’Luna eclipse It is a suggestive natural phenomenon that occurs when the shadow of the earth, illuminated by the sun, completely or partially obscures our satellite, when the latter is in the “full” phase while sun, earth and it are aligned in this order.

In other words, the sun illuminates the earth, which projects its shadow on the moon, which, if the eclipse is total, will appear red Because among all the components of the white light, our atmosphere lets only this component pass (the phenomenon is called Rayleight Scatteringthe same that makes us appear the blue sky during the day and red in the evening).

Why is the sky blue during the day and red at sunset?

The phenomenon always occurs when our satellite is in full phase.

What we will see at dawn on March 14, 2025

The moon will be full on March 14, 2025 technically at 7.55 Italian time, when in our country, it will not be more visible as under the horizon. However, the eclipse will begin much earlier, first of all with the penumbral phase, perhaps less spectacular but no less fascinating than the real eclipse.

In particular, in this phase, our satellite transits only for the penumbra of the earth, without being hidden by its shadow. The lunar disc will therefore be still visible but “faded”. Sun, earth and moon must however be aligned in this order as in the Eclipse of the Moon.

We will also be able to see live the beginning of the partial eclipse, scheduled at 6.09 Italian time. Unfortunately, the moon will then be under the horizon for the maximum, scheduled at 7.58 and for the term, at 11.00.

But we will still be able to connect to the streaming made available by Timeanda.

Because Moon of the Verme

The event, as we have seen, will take place on March 14, when our hemisphere admires the Moon of the worm (or Lander Moon). As for the others, the name to the full moon of March was given by Native Americans because of the earthworms that leave the ground when the earth begins to warm up in the third month of the year, inviting the beads to return. But it is also a game of words between Worm Moon (Lander Moon) And Warm Moon (lukewarm moon), given that the temperatures become more and more mild.

How to celebrate spring in the world: more beautiful and significant anniversaries and traditions

This name, however, comes only from the southern tribes, in fact the earthworms did not exist in North America (those found in those lands today are invasive species brought by the settlers to fertilize the soil, or by chance, as they were in the plants transport, or finally because they present in the soil used as a ballast in ships). For the north tribes, such as that of Shawneethis was instead the Sap of the sapto remind the tribes that could start to picking the maple syrup.
