The best cat treats according to Altroconsumo
Among the morsels analyzed, Kitekat with chicken in sauce stands out, one of the products that obtained the best judgment in the wet food category.
The product achieved 79 points out of 100, ranking among those with excellent quality. According to analyses, it has a good nutritional balance, an adequate protein content and an interesting fat composition.
Another positive aspect concerns the presence of some important nutrients, including vitamin A, zinc and magnesium. Its main advantage is also availability: it is a product that can be easily purchased in supermarkets, pet shops and online.
Whiskas Pranzetti: a much appreciated product
Among the morsels with the best results we also find Whiskas Lunches with chicken and turkey, which obtained 79 points out of 100. What to check when buying cat treats
The packaging may contain a lot of information, but not all of it is always easy to interpret. One of the first things to check is that the product is indicated as a “complete food”: this means that it can cover the cat’s nutritional needs on its own, while complementary foods must be combined with other foods.
It is also important to check the presence of essential nutrients such as taurine, an amino acid fundamental for the cat’s well-being, as well as the quantity of proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. Another aspect to consider concerns the wording on the packaging. Writing “with chicken” or “with salmon” does not necessarily mean that that ingredient is present in large quantities: often a minimum percentage is enough to be able to highlight it in the name of the product.
