The Circo Martin definitively condemned from the ruling of the Court of Cassation which finally closes the important process that concerned the lives of all the animals within it, which began with the seizure of the animals in 2014.
Ten years ago, in fact, after some inspections and a complaint from LAV, all the animals held were seized In the Martin circus Of Eusanio Martino and Adam Caroliwaited in Arzachena, on the Costa Smeralda. A huge kidnapping that has never had equals in history, despite the fact that circuses that exploit and mistreat innocent animals still exist.
Then, the animals seized from Circus Martin were entrusted to LAV which still takes care of them today at the AnimaNatura Wild Sanctuary Centre.
In 2022, at first instance the Court of Tempio Pausania had sentenced both defendants for the crime of mistreatment of animals and to four months of imprisonment, a sentence confirmed last year by the Court of Appeal of Cagliari, branch of Sassari, for both defendantswith an order to pay the legal costs.
But today is the big day: the Supreme Court upheld the conviction, definitively confirming the crime of mistreatment for the two defendantsrepresenting a historic moment against animal circuses and setting a fundamental precedent for future cases as well.
