Well, there are occasions like Christmas in which the Peter Pan within us comes out and doesn’t give an account to anyone and considers whoever decorates the house from December 8th onwards to be a decidedly sad person. Some expert psychologists say so, according to which those who put up Christmas decorations early are happier than those who wait for “traditions”.

The Christmas tree activates a good mood
“In a world full of stress and anxiety people love to associate themselves with things that make them happy and Christmas decorations evoke those strong childhood feelings.”
This is explained by Steve McKeown, psychologist and founder of the McKeown Clinic, because if you already want to dust off the elves and connect the lights it is because this is how you feel happier, remembering your childhood and moving away the responsibilities and stresses of adults.
In short, putting up the decorations in advance can make us light and serene and in touch with our inner child.
“Decorations are simply an anchor or a pathway to those magical childhood feelings of excitement. So dusting off those Christmas decorations early adds to the excitement.”
Furthermore, decorating your home could also help you bond with your neighbors (beautifying the outside makes it appear more “friendly”) and, why not, also be a way to remember someone you love who is no longer here:
“For people who have lost a loved one, the holidays can serve as a reminder of the happy times they had with that person in the past. Decorating early could help them feel more connected to the person gone.”
And what will you do today? Are you already thinking about the tree?
