Do you want to work for the Royal Family? Charles III is looking for an expert in communication (and offers a salary of 30 thousand pounds)

The King’s Foundation is seeking a Communications Executive for the Highgrove Estate, near Tetbury, Gloucestershire. The salary is £30,000 a year — around €35,000 at current exchange rates. The position is also active on the official King’s Foundation vacancies page where the complete job description can be downloaded.

What (exactly) does Highgrove’s communications executive do

The role holder will be expected to develop content for Highgrove Gardens’ social channels, promote events, workshops, gardens and educational programs on digital platforms, and provide support for press and media activities related to the estate.
Key tasks include planning and producing posts for the property’s social media, writing copy for websites and newsletters, and promoting workshops and visits open to the public. In short, it is not a role of institutional representation of the Crown, but an editorial and digital communication position applied to one of the most famous estates in England. The same announcement describes it as an opportunity for those who have a passion for storytelling and are looking for practical and varied experience in the communications sector.

Highgrove: the estate, the gardens, the foundation

Highgrove House is a Georgian property which serves as the private residence for King Charles and Queen Camilla. The surrounding gardens are managed by the King’s Foundation and open to paying visitors on selected dates between April and October. Proceeds from visits and events support the foundation’s charitable activities.

The estate was acquired by the Duchy of Cornwall in 1980 and has remained the sovereign’s favorite country residence ever since. Charles transformed it over the years into a laboratory for organic gardening and landscape architecture, even before ascending the throne — and the gardens at Highgrove are today considered among the most influential in England from the point of view of sustainable cultivation.

The context: Carlo’s foundation and philosophy

The King’s Foundation is the organization established by Charles III to carry forward his long-standing interests: traditional architecture, environment, craftsmanship, education in the manual arts. As well as Highgrove, the foundation runs Dumfries House in Ayrshire and Mey Castle in Scotland.
The Communications Executive’s research comes at a time when the estate is also at the center of a local dispute: as reported by GBNews, the Miller Homes company has presented a project to build 135 homes on land between Bath Road and Longfurlong Lane, on the outskirts of Tetbury. Residents have raised concerns about the safety of the King, as the construction site would be just meters from the close protection zone subject to Section 128 of the Serious Organized Crime & Police Act 2005, which is manned by armed officers.

How to apply

Applications are submitted via the online form on the King’s Foundation website, to which CV and cover letter must be attached. The complete job description can also be downloaded directly from the official website.
