Earthquake of magnitude 3.1 in Abruzzo during the night: the earthquake was recorded at 4.34 am 4 km north of Barete, in the province of L’Aquila. The earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 14.6 kilometres, occurred in the heart of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, between the municipalities of Pizzoli, Antrodoco and Amatrice.
The earthquake was felt both by residents in the neighboring municipalities in Abruzzo and in the neighboring territories of Lazio.
Fortunately, no damage to buildings or injuries has been reported, but in this area – among the most seismic in our peninsula – every tremor reignites fear and reopens the never-healed wound linked to the disaster of 17 years ago.
