Easter eggs withdrawn from the market: immediately check the batch you have at home

The Ministry of Health recently issued a precautionary recall regarding three batches of hazelnut Easter eggs produced by the artisanal pastry shop Mennella, due to a labeling error. The packaging indicates that the product is “gluten-free”, but the eggs may contain undeclared traces of gluten.

The recall affects all flavors of Mennella brand hazelnut eggs, including white and milk, pistachio and milk, pistachio and dark, pistachio, milk and dark, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and Mennella Rock. However, the recall notice only shows images of the milk and dark versions. The products involved are packaged in boxes of approximately 450 grams, with batch numbers 057/26, 058/26 and 084/26 and a minimum shelf life set for August 2026.

The eggs were produced by Artika Srl, with a factory in Torre del Greco (NA). The company recommends that people with celiac disease, gluten intolerance or allergies to wheat proteins not consume these products. For consumers not affected by these conditions, the product poses no risks.
