An explosion of colors and perfumes, between art and nature, invades the cloister of the Bramante of Rome. From 14 February to 14 September 2025, the exhibition “Flowers. From the Renaissance to artificial intelligence “will accompany visitors on a fascinating journey through five centuries of art and innovation. From the refined paintings of Jan Brueghel to the provocations of Ai Weiwei, to the most recent digital experiments, the flowers become the absolute protagonists, witnesses of an extraordinary ability in knowing how to intertwine science, technology and emotions.
The exhibition
Curated by Franziska Stöhr with Roger Diederen, in collaboration with Suzanne Landau and Kunsthalle München, the exhibition collects over 90 works from prestigious institutions of ten different countries. Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Petit Palais, Musée des Arts Décoratifs of Paris, Royal Botanic Gardens of London, Civic Museum of Zoology in Rome, Galleria Borghese, Casanatense Library, Badism Landesmuseum of Karlsruhe and Israel Museum of Jerusalem are the subjects involved in This ambitious project.
The goal? Show that flowers, in addition to representing a real delight for the eyes, can be elements with an extraordinary symbolic power, capable of telling millenary stories, denouncing injustice and celebrating the fragility of life.
Walking through the halls of the cloister, you will be overwhelmed by a continuous dialogue between the past and the future. On the one hand, the Flemish death, meticulous in detail; On the other, immersive installations and artificial intelligence that reinvent the perception of the plant world, for a complete and original multisensory experience, which invites you to look at nature with new eyes.
If you think that a flower is just a flower, this exhibition will make you change your mind: you will have a great opportunity to let yourself be enchanted, in the heart of Rome, by a universal language that crosses time and space.
