European ice cream day. Taste chosen for this edition: Hallelujah
Among the many days that are celebrated, it certainly could not be missing the Day of artisan ice cream, which is celebrated on March 24 throughout Europe and which makes use of the official hashtag: #gelatoday.
This year the taste that triumphed at the prestigious competition organized during the last Sigep World fair, winning the title of ice cream of the year is the “Hallelujah taste”, a celestial creation that is about to delight the palates of the faithful visiting Rome.
This extraordinary ice cream is the work of the Sicilian ice cream master Vincenzo Squatrito of the ice cream parlors of Olivieri (Messina).
The delicious combination of gianduia with toasted hazelnuts and varied pure chocolate has conquered the jury between thirty proposals in the race. A real taste experience that promises to be as divine as its name suggests.
A Holy Tasting for the Jubilee
The pilgrims who arrived in Rome for the Jubilee will have the opportunity to taste this delicacy on March 24, in conjunction with the “ice cream day”. The event, sponsored by the Dicastery for evangelization and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, will see the installation of several kiosks in Piazza Risorgimento, a few steps from St. Peter’s Square.
Ice cream with a double vocation
“Hallelujah” is not only a ice cream with an evocative name and a celestial flavor, but also has a strong solidarity component: the proceeds of the tastings will in fact be donated to charity to support the “13 houses” project in favor of Syria.
The journey of this sacred ice cream will not stop in Rome. After the debut in the Eternal City, the Hallelujah taste will continue its tour through Europe, where it will be proposed in the ice cream parlors belonging to the ice cream day, both in its original version and in creative reinterpretations.
