Same lot, same farm, third brand in ten days. The Ministry of Health has published a new recall notice for a batch of fresh free-range eggs, this time under the Delizie del Sole brand and sold in Eurospin stores. The reason is a possible microbiological risk linked to salmonella enteritidisthe same bacterium already at the center of the recalls for the Aia and Selex brands.
The product and batch affected
The recall concerns fresh free-range eggs, size M, in packs of six pieces with a total weight of 348 grams. The lot is number 1IT040VR006, with a minimum shelf life set at 4 August 2026. Anyone who has a package with these two details at home should check them before opening the carton: the code is printed directly on the shell, as well as on the package.

The eggs are produced by Agricola Tre Valli Società Cooperativa, of the Aia-Veronesi group, in the Caselle di Sommacampagna plant, in the province of Verona (IT identification code Q8C3N). The same plant, with the same batch and the same expiry date, had already produced the recalled eggs on 27 July with the Aia brand and on 31 July with the Selex brand.
Why was the recall triggered?
There salmonella enteritidis it is a bacterium responsible for gastrointestinal infections that are transmitted mainly through raw or undercooked foods, including eggs. The most common symptoms generally appear within a few days of ingestion: fever, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, sometimes nausea and vomiting. In most cases they resolve on their own, but they can become complicated in young children, the elderly and people with compromised immune defenses, categories for which the risk of dehydration or more severe forms is more concrete. The measure is precautionary and the Ministry has not specified whether the contamination was ascertained analytically or whether it derives from a precautionary extension of the recalls already ordered on the same lot in the previous days.
What to do if you have purchased the product
Anyone who owns a pack of Delizie del Sole eggs with lot 1IT040VR006 and expiry date 4 August 2026 must not consume it, not even by cooking it thoroughly. The product must be returned to the Eurospin sales point where it was purchased, where it will be replaced or refunded without the need for a receipt, as required by ministerial practice for this type of recall. Anyone who has already consumed eggs and presents gastrointestinal symptoms in the following days should report it to their doctor, specifying the possible connection with the product.
